I did a BAD BAD thing!!!

The BAD Ride is over for another year! Each year I curse the early morning start - I have to get up at 6am to be there for 7am which always seems that much harder on a Sunday morning!! Once those bikers start rolling in ready to register I quickly forget how tired I am. This is the fourth year I have gone and each year I am astounded by the generosity of these ladies & gentlemen. I tell you - forget any stereotypes you have heard - bikers are some of the nicest folk you could meet. And they all come out to support such a good cause and have a great time doing it. Without their generosity this ride would be nowhere!!

This year marks the eleventh year for the BAD Ride!! That's 11 years of being BAD for a good cause! All the money raised goes toward the Toronto Distress Centres. The DC is near and dear to our family since my Nan worked there for more years than I can remember and only stopped when her health wouldn't allow her to continue. It was not easy for her to send that letter of resignation. She poured so much of her heart and soul into that place and I bet there are countless people out there whose lives she touched! She was just that kind of woman. Some of her callers would call in only when they knew she would be there just so they could chat!! That is quite a compliment!! I miss her so much but spending time at the BAD Ride keeps her near and I know she is looking down and enjoying the day with us!! I love you Nanny!!!
