Happy Birthday (by Maya)

Hello everyone!!!  Man, this blog is not seeing much action lately.  Sadly, it is because I have not had much crafty time.  Too busy working.

But.....that is going to change soon!!  I actually got scrappy this weekend so will soon have things to share.  As soon as I find the time to create a bunch of posts!!

Today though, I want to share a card Maya made for my friend's birthday on Thursday.  I would dare call her my BFF (if that is a term a self-respecting almost 40-year-old should use)!

Anyway, here is the card.  She's getting pretty talented if I do say so myself.

And, I had to take and share a photo of the inside because I love her little girl printing.

And the back of the card because seriously, how awesome is that puppy she drew?!?!

Hope everyone is enjoying a fantastic weekend!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Happy Birthday B!!

Today is my sweet, funny and fabulous niece Bria's birthday!  We were lucky enough to see her this morning to wish her happy birthday in person!!

Here is a picture of her and Maya from today...

And here is the "Last Day to be Seven" picture her Mom posted on Facebook yesterday....

It feels weird not to be posting a card I made for her but Baby Girl wanted to be the one to make it.  So, here is Maya's creation for Bria using a couple of different sets from The Stamps of Life (birthday2celebrate and candy2share).

Congratulations

I have a cousin who recently announced that she is pregnant!!  Maya and I went to visit this past weekend so we decided to take a card.

Here it is!  I helped a little bit but mostly this is Maya's card.  My girl is getting pretty good, I think!!

And just because I haven't shared one in a while here is a shot of my girl enjoying the pool this past weekend...

Happy Birthday Daddy!!

Today is my husband's birthday and Maya and I have been planning a wee surprise for him for a while now.  A gal from work made this awesome cake for him!  For those of you not in the 'superhero know' this is Captain America's shield.  Maya & her Daddy have a shared love of superheroes so this cake was perfect.

And here is the two of them.....

And here is the card Maya made for him....

And here is the inside of her card.  On the left side is a drawing of Pat's favourite superhero, Tombstone, from Freedom Force - the game the two of them play together.

Happy Birthday Rissa Roo!!

Okay, so today is almost done but I am getting this in under the wire.  Today is the 5th birthday of my sweet niece Marissa!  Together with Maya, they are the M&Ms.  These two are fabulous cousins and friends!  I guess that's because there is only 9 days age difference between them.

Ruby Roo is the sweetest and funniest girl!  I love her!!  I love her especially when she is singing Ruby Tuesday to me!

"Goodbye Ruby Tuesday.
Who could hang a name on you?
When you change with every new day
Still Im gonna miss you..."

Anyway, here is sweet Marissa in her "last day to be 4" picture.  Don't you just love those blue eyes?!?!

And here are the cards Maya & I made for her....

First up is Maya's using the kids2love set from The Stamps of Life.....

And a shot of the inside.  Don't ya just love her little girl printing?!?!

"girls are rainbows" is the message she insisted on writing.  Not sure why......

And here is the card I made for her using my new set from My Favorite Things - First Place Award Ribbon Die-Namics & Stamp Set.  Love it!!!

And now, here is the reason why this post is so late today.  I bought a new shelf the other day in order to get my scrappy space organized.  (long story with the shelf.  NOT FUN to put together!!!)  Anyway, I spent the day neck-deep in scrappy goodness - cleaning, purging & organizing!!  It feels good and I really hope I can keep it this way!  Looking at these pictures I actually have a table.  It has been a LONG time since I have seen more than about 12 inches square of it.

And the shelf that caused major hassle but is so very handy!
And my baby girl who insisted on being in the picture!!

Anyway, thanks for stopping by!  Have a fabulous weekend!
We are off to the beach in the morning to celebrate Rissa Roo's birthday!

Happy Father's Day!

Wow!  It has been over a week since I have blogged.  I just don't seem to have any mojo at the moment.  I am guessing it is the end of the school year busyness to blame.  Two short weeks and I am done work so I plan to get my scrap on then!!!

Anyway, I did want to pop in and share the Father's Day card Maya made for her daddy at school.  So cute!!

Hope all the Dads out there had a fabulous day!!

Thanks for stopping by!

And I just had to show the inside too because I love her drawings!!

And the back where she drew a picture of her and Grandma!

And here she is proudly showing it off.....

And now here is the card that I made for her.  I pulled out this year's Easter set from TSOL (bunny4Easter).

And now I just wanted to share a couple of pictures I took of my baby girl yesterday!  Isn't she adorable?!?!  She is getting too big though.

Maya's Thank Yous

Just thought I would pop in and share a couple of cards that Maya and I made earlier in the week. She had a couple of thank yous to say to people who had sent her some goodies. She decided she wanted to use my new butterfly2build set from The Stamps of Life. The sentiments are from the banners4all set also from TSOL.

And just for fun I thought I would share a recent picture too. This one is from the birthday party Maya went to last weekend. Cinderella came and hung out with the girls and performed some magic tricks and painted faces. Here she is with my little tiger. Who knew Cinderella was so multi-talented?!?!

Christmas cards by Maya

Okay, so I know it is the middle of January and Christmas is pretty much a distant memory at this point. But, that being said, I have been a terrible blog slacker and I just absolutely have to show off the Christmas cards that Maya made for her 'friends' this year! Every year on Boxing Day, most of my family gets together at my parents' place for Christmas. Just trust me when I tell you that it is loud and crazy and filled with tonnes of family but I love it and it just isn't Christmas to me until I go there. Anyway, so Maya wanted to make cards for her cousins (or friends as she insists they be called) and here are the creations she came up with.

We pulled out a variety of stamps from The Stamps of Life and some sentiments from Paper Makeup Stamps as well as some random ones from Michael's. My girl loves her stamping!!

Didn't she do an awesome job?!?!

Oh, and I am happy to report that I finally spent some time getting scrappy today so I should have some things to share here soon.

Baby Card Fun!!

Today is all about the baby cards!!

I have a friend who had a baby girl a little while ago so I whipped her up a card. I used this House Mouse image that I bought ages ago from Scrapping Turtle. First time colouring these critters and I have to say that while I think they are cute they are also kind of creepy. Their feet and tail are just too 'real' if you know what I mean!!

Next up are a couple of cards for my friend Kristy. We had her baby shower yesterday and her little one is set to arrive any time now. I cannot wait!!!

This first one is one that I made using a stamp from Stampin Up!

And here is Maya's card for Auntie Kristy. It is predominantly purple on purpose. Maya knows that is Kristy's fave colour so she made it special for her. I will admit I helped to get things straight on her card but the design and the elements were all her ideas. My girl has skills I think!! ;)

And I had to include a picture of the stamp on the back just because I love to see her print her name!! Not only is my girl talented at making cards she is one smart cookie! I really am proud of her! She is a bright, curious and smart girl!!

Happy Father's Day!

Father's Day is the day we take the time to tell the Dads in our life how awesome they are. Personally, I think it is important to share that more than just once a year. My Dad is awesome and I love him so much. I hope he knows how important he is to me each and every day!!

Then, there is my husband. Watching him be a father to our baby girl is one of my greatest joys! Seeing the two of them play and be silly together brings me more happiness than I can express. Pat is an incredible father and Maya is very lucky to have him!!

Maya was busy at 'school' making a present for Daddy. She created this message board (one side is dry erase and the other is corkboard). It will soon find its place on the wall above Daddy's computer. Then, she set to work using my stamps and created this card for him.

The first message was written by me obviously but it was word for word what hse told me to write. Apparently she felt the bottom front of her card was a little crowded. The girl is just too cute!

And below is the card I made for him using an incredible digital stamp (Daddy's Heartbeat) from Whimsy Stamps. This image was drawn by the incredibly talented Crissy Armstrong and it is my girl and her Daddy. I absolutely adore it and it is so special to me to have this! Thank you so much Crissy & to Denise from Whimsy as well!! It is an honour to have this and the other images Crissy has drawn.
