This past weekend, I took my girl to her very first concert!!  One of my sisters invited us to tag along with her and my niece.  The noise was a little much for Maya at one point but mostly she had a good time!

We saw R5 - a band I had never heard of until we were invited to go.

March Break is just about over here.  I am going to spend the last day tomorrow doing pretty much nothing!  Hanging at home with the family and perhaps scrapping a little!!

Happy Birthday - Just for fun!!

It isn't very often that I post a 'just because' birthday card on here. Usually when I make one it is going to one of my many family members. This one though is just for fun because I received my happy2becircles set from The Stamps of Life and just had to play. I also used up the tail end of some scraps of We R Memory Keepers - that is always a good feeling!! :)

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you have a fantastic weekend!!

A layout at last!

Here is a layout I did a bit ago for a sketch challenge over at Turtle Soup. The sketch is from Pagemaps.

Short and sweet today because I am running late for work but I thought I should put something new up.

A good day to everyone!!

A Turtle for Each

It has been a little rough since I have gone back to work at the beginning of the month. First, I was sick although I think I have finally kicked that. But now, I am just tired all the time. Maybe it's the fact that the days are getting so short that is doing it to me. Anyway, I just have not had time or energy to get crafty. Well, that isn't exactly true, I did finish an album for someone at work but I can't share that. Hopefully this weekend will be filled with crafty fun and I know next weekend will be. Next weekend, I am super excited to say, is the GO Scrapping retreat I won a while ago. Mom and I are heading for most of the weekend to Peterborough. YAHOO!! I can't wait!! We will be leaving a little early though since next Sunday (October 4th) is Run for the Cure. So much I am looking forward to!!

Anyway, enough chattiness. Here is a layout I did a while ago that I have yet to share. The little guy in the picture is Jack. The turtles make sense when you know he is the son of the owner of Scrapping Turtle. :)

Reveal Day!

Today is the day of the Design Team Reveal over at Scrapping Turtle. I was so nervous for it but I have to say that I just love my projects (and I guess in the end that is all that matters, right?!?!)

Just to remind you - I got to play with the super fabulous Christmas line from We R Memory Keepers. This was lots of fun and helped me to finish up Maya's first Christmas pictures!!

This last one is a picture of the cover of a mini-album I made. There are far too many pages in it to load it all up here but if you want to see it then head over to Turtle Soup and check it out here.

I know the month isn't over yet but I just wanted to say thanks again to Hannah & the Turtle ladies for giving me a shot.

Some exciting news.....

This world of scrapping and stamping is a crazy competitive one. I know this! I just tend to stay away from that side of things. I have never tried out for a Design Team position or to get my work published. There are a few reasons for this....

First, I scrap for me and my family. I do what I like and feels right for me. I don't keep up on all the latest trends & crazes. I just do my thing and if other people like it then that is an added bonus.

Second, I am not sure I am creative enough. This isn't meant in a self-deprecating way. This is just my reality. I am not a very artsy person. I scrap from my heart and try not to get caught up in how others will feel about it. In fact, I think a lot of the time my layouts start to look similar since I am very clean & linear in my style.

And last but not least, I am not sure I am prepared to deal with all the rejection. Like I said, I know it is a very competitive thing and my little ego bruises easily.

So, all of this is the reason I tend to keep to my own little scrappy world!! If I stay in my comfort-zone life will be cool!!

That being said, I am incredibly happy and proud to announce that I have been given a Guest Design Team position for the month of December!! Where you ask?? Well, only at my most favourite scrappy place - Scrapping Turtle!!! I thank you ladies for giving me a shot and liking my stuff enough to do so. I am honoured!! I am also in fabulous company! Check out their message board for a peak at the work of the rest of the incredibly talented and fabulous Design Team!!

And now without further adieu....here is my sneak peak for the month. I got to play with the fabulous White Out Christmas line from We R Memory Keepers which prompted me to scrap some of Maya's Christmas pictures. Maybe I will get caught up just in time to take new pictures this year.

The rest of the reveal is on December 15th!!
