Card-A-Day: Flattery Friday Week 2

Today's card is a very special one because it is going to an amazing woman. One of my scrappy friends Sue has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer and her strength and attitude is amazing to me!! She is tackling everything head on and working hard to kicks cancer's ass!! She is most definitely fighting like a girl!! So, this card is for her because even the strongest of women need to know that people have their back and are pulling for them!! This card is coming your way Sue filled with all of the strength and positive energy I can stuff into it!! You are amazing!!

My card is lifted from this one! I used the Think Pink - Fight Like A Girl set from Flourishes.

Card-A-Day: Wildcard Wednesday with TSOL

Wednesdays in Card-A-Day world is all about just playing and creating something. For this week's card, I decided to pull out one of my little used sets from The Stamps of Life. I adore these stamps since they are just so versatile and perfect for making cards for anyone and for any occasion. Oh, and it helps that Stephanie Barnard (the creator and owner) is just too fabulous!! Seriously, go check out her videos. Too much fun!!

This card uses the kites2fly set and was so much fun to make! Oh, and the grass was from the eggs4Easter set!

Card-A-Day: Tutorial Tuesday Week 2

Today I shared a digi stamp tutorial over on Turtle Soup. I know there are so many people out there who use digi stamps all the time and it is old hat but believe it or not there are still some of us who are pretty new to it. I know the first time I used one I was quite happy to have someone show me the way. :)

The best part of doing the tutorial though was getting to use one of the fabulous digi stamps I have on my computer. It was really tough to choose just one but I decided to go with an image from Mo Manning. I love Mo's images but this is the first time I coloured one up.

Check out my card using Penelope's Party Wagon from Mo's Digital Pencil Shop.

Card-A-Day: Messy Monday with PMS

Monday seems as good a day as any to get some supplies out and get messy!! For today's Card-A-Day I pulled out some PMS Stamps and had a little play.

Messiness - sponged ink around the image and glitter on the wand

Card-A-Day: Simple Sunday

I have another quick & easy card to show off today as part of my Card-A-Day thing! I may not be absolutely in love with this card but it came togeether quickly and definitely gets the job done.

And it was easy peasy. I ran some scraps through my Revolution using the Swiss Dots embossing folder then punched out circles. Finished it up with a strip of ribbon and a simple 'Thanks' sentiment and I am done!!

Card-A-Day: Flattery Friday

Time for another Card-A-Day!! I have to say I am enjoying this!! I do love to make cards and it is nice to give my supplies a work out!!

Friday is all about the Flattery! There are so many incredible cardmakers out there that sometimes you just wanna do what they did! So, on this day the task is to CASE or scraplift someone else's work. Of course, giving credit to the original designer is important!!

For week one's card, I chose this fab card out of the Turtle gallery. A big reason I was drawn to this card was because of the clean and simple design but also because when I saw it I knew it would work well for my brand new Just the Ticket die & stamps from Papertrey Ink! So excited to use them!!

Here is my card. The picture kind of makes the colours wonky. It is actually brown instead of black (although I am loving the pink & black combo too).

Just about everything on here is PTI....except for the flower and brad. Oh, and I also used my brand new Ticket Corner Punch from SU too!!

Happy birthday Rissa Roo!!

Photo taken by Amanda Stratton (better known as Mommy to Rissa)

Today is my niece Marissa's 4th birthday and I am dedicating this post to wishing her an awesome day! Love this girl! She is super sweet and absolutely adorable!!

Together Maya & Marissa are the M&Ms and are cousins and the best of friends!! That was why I was absolutely thrilled when the superbly talented Crissy Armstrong immortalized them in rubber! That image of course was the perfect one to use for Rissa's birthday card!!

Happy birthday Rissa Roo!! We love you so much!!

Stamp used: Maya & Marissa from Whimsy Stamps

Today is also Theme Thursday over at Turtle Soup as part of the Card-A-Day goings on! This week's theme is celebrations (birthday, anniversary, new baby, new job and so on)

I am also submitting this card for the August challenge over at the Whimsy Inspirations Blog. This one is easy peasy - Anything Goes!!

Card-A-Day: Tutorial Tuesday

I'm back with more Card-A-Day fun!! Each Tuesday, I am doing up a mini tutorial and posting it over on Turtle Soup.

(Fine print: I do not claim to create these techniques. I have simply discovered them on the WWW and created my own take on it. I cannot remember where I have seen them all so accept my apologies for not giving credit.)

For this week, I have decided to make a card using the Baby Wipe Ink Pad technique. I like this! A great way to get a stamped image with more than one colour on it.

Check out my card....

Stamps used are from Unity Stamp Co.

A Card A Day for 31 Days

It has been a week and no blogging from me! I had a good reason though. I was at the cottage with my girl and a friend and the internet was sloooooooooooow. A good time was had by all but I am back to reality now.

I have a thing happening over at Turtle Soup. I am going to post one card each day for the entire month of August. Gonna get my mojo going and get creative!! :) There will be some challenges and some inspiration along the way. Come on over and play along and you might just win a prize along the way!! ;) Check out the Card-A-Day thread HERE!

Today was the first day and today is Simple Sunday. Here is the card I whipped up for today. Easy peasy. I used my baby carriage QuicKutz die and it all came together pretty quickly.
