Relay for Life

This quote was one of my Momma's favourites.  It inspired us to create the Stratton Rain Dancers and together we participated in the Relay for Life yesterday.  I love that my family fights when things get tough.  We could all curl up and let cancer defeat us (lord knows we have dealt with it enough that it would be fair) but we don't.  We fight.  We do our part to support the cause.  It's what my Momma did when she was still with us and it is what we will continue to do in honour of her.  Cancer sucks.  No other way to say it.  But we will not let it destroy this family.  We will keep fighting and hopefully be a small part of the reason that this disease is defeated one day.

So, a good bunch of us were out yesterday to walk and take steps in the fight against cancer.  It was a tough day.  One that brought tears but also laughs.  While we miss all those we have lost, we always remember and embrace those still here.  We mourn my Momma and my Nanny and so many others in the family.  Every day I miss them.  But yesterday, we also took some time to celebrate those still with us.  My baby sister kicked cancer's ass!  And for that I am grateful every day.

Anyway, enough with all the words.  I just wanted to share a couple of pictures and once again, say thank you to all those who supported the cause!
